The War in Syria: Proud to be Human?

The latest events in Syria are more than terrifying. After chemical weapons were released thousands of people including children died, many were injured and poisoned. According to the latest news president Obama stated there will be a military strike against Syria. It is “designed to serve as punishment for Syria’s use of chemical weapons and as a deterrent, while keeping the United States out of deeper involvement in that country’s civil war, according to senior administration officials.”* What a sentenceit just leaves you speechless…

I don`t know who to blame and whether there is right and wrong in this situation. But I saw the photos and the videos full of death, tears and despair. And I wondersince the human kind lived for so long and brought so many wars and destruction, didn`t we overcome it? Haven`t we already learned how to deal with each other without killing each other?

A thought has come to me lately… should one be proud or ashamed to call oneself human?

My heart goes with the civil Syrian people and their families and I pray to God no other person to be harmed in whatever military action is to come…
